The National Bureau of Statistics reported Friday that China’s consumer prices increased by 0.8 percent over January.
This was more than expected after December’s flat reading.
On a year-to-year basis, consumer prices rose by 2.1 percentage – slightly below the forecasts for 2.2 per cent but still higher that the 1.8percent in previous months.
Also, the bureau reported that producer prices fell 0.8 percent year-over-year, compared to expectations of a drop of 0.5 percent after the drop of 0.7 percent a month ago.
